Cannot create Corporate Partition with RDS 5.2.1

Hi all,

I installed RDS 5.2.1 on Windows Server 2012 - and all associated apps -  the ultimate goal is to have encrypted communication (login) for DOORS.

I can create a partition which allows us to login via a DOORS client .

I cannot create a different - new - partition to enable SSL

it returns continuously the error:  please note: the user credentials I checked I don't know how many times and they are correct

                CRRDB0002E:Protocol error:Invalid partition credentials

I researched the error code and found this document

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SS4AKG_5.2.1/com.ibm.rational.rds.administering.doc/topics/t_Starting_the_directory_server_tiv.html

On that page it states to run a file called rdsctl.bat to start the service

But, I do not have a file called rdsctl.bat in my installation for RDS 5.2.1

I found this partial solution for the error here:

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SS4AKG_5.2.1/com.ibm.rational.rds.troubleshooting.doc/topics/t_rds_error_messages.html

From that website:

CRRDB0002E Protocol error Error LDAP CommunicationException occurred. This happens because either the Rational® Directory Server address or port number is incorrect or Rational Directory Server is not running. Fill correct the Rational Directory Server details and make sure Rational Directory Server is up and running. Hence me trying to find the abovementioned batch file.

I opened a PMR / TS with IBM - awaiting response -

anyone else had this issue? found a way to start this  - or is there a different solution / remedy  ??

Additional: We would rather run this on the Linux platform but we also got stuck there - similar issue - now we are trying Windows to see whether its any easier on there. We have also opened a PMR /TS for this

thanks a lot in advance

Werner
